PodOne
Evening all Question; Did the original starter motor have a shim fitted between it and the bell housing and if so is one required for a WOSP starter motor? Thanks Andy

Thanks Andy My 1973 CR did not have one and my Wasp also has not got one. When you mount your Wasp S/M make sure that the body of the SM is not being bolted on to paint and rust. WSM has to have a good earth to get full performance. Some people extend the earth bulk head cable to one of the mounting bolts and use nylock nuts or similar Bruce. Keith Warren
Hi Andy I had to fit a shim when I had a lighten flywheel main reason was the ring gear was not totally square but with the standard flywheel it’s fine, but it’s worth fitting and cranking engine over before you fit all the trim to make sure. PodOne
Thanks Bruce/Keith So happens the rear plate is powder coated so I'll run a short earth cable to the bell housing as suggested. Andy
