Last night my sons TR7 FHC HDT 837W was stolen from our driveway. Its pageant blue with a sunroof and factory alloys, anyone in the Sheffield area hearing about or seeing this car please send a PM. It may finish up as spares which is a shame as it was a nice car, its was in the Top Gear show filmed at Gayden in 2001.

Thanks everyone who helped, found car, usual damage to steering lock and ignition switch.

We saw the theives drive away, gave the police the reg number of the their car but no progress. I put a description on the computer screens in 400 taxis in Sheffield, and on this forum and car found within an hour.

Glad to hear Robert got his car back, Chris - hope no more damage comes to light. And don't be too hard on the police, lads - if the local force had the resources to put four hundred computer equipped police cars on the streets of every major city, crime would plummet and we would need a lot more prisons!

Though perhaps they would have the resources if they wasted less time persecuting law abiding motorists for minor infractions - such as exceeding the speed limit by 5MPH on an open empty road - moan, moan, whinge whinge, etc...

Malcolm, who's really looking forward to his Thames Valley Police 'Speed Awareness Workshop'
