roughground
Just recently I found a pool of oil by my nearside front wheel. Assuming it was the brakes I stripped cleaned and replaced the seal and pistons and pads on both sides. I was miffed to find a small quantity of oil again by the same wheel and a wetness to the bottom of the strut. I took out the pads and could see no leakage from around the new seals. Q. does the capsule contain fluid? I thought it was gas but maybe that's the expensive version. Could the capsule have rusted or cracked? I value advice before I start again stripping down to replace things that don't need it.
RobH
Sounds like a leaking suspension damper (shock absorber) perhaps. Even the 'gas' ones have oil in them as the damping fluid. Edited September 5, 2021 by RobH
BlueTR3A-5EKT
£30 a side sets you right with standard items. https://robsport.co.uk/index.php/online-shop/shop-tr7/product/4089-strut-insert-standard-tr7-8 This issue is not uncommon. Peter W
