Hello all ,

My name is Ronny Moortgat and I live in sunny Belgium. A year ago  bought a TR4 right hand drive as the car was originally for the home market . It is Valencia blue, but originaly British Racing green,  and carried the registration number 3141KV. It was build in 1963 and joined the company fleet were it was used for PR purposes . After that it came into the hands of Geoffrey Butcher and sold it to club member Ian Pearce . After that John and Janet Davies were the owners .There the color changes into Valencia Blue .They restore the car and it was done so well that Tr specialists Cox & Buckles put it on their stand at the National Classic Car show in Birmingham. Again the car is sold to a Rodney Bolwell , Gideon Overwater and finally it arrives in Belgium. If there is anyone who has any knowledge or was a former owner , I would be pleased to hear from them .

Hi Ronny,

Welcome to the Forum and (relatively recently) TR4 ownership!!!  I hope you have had enough chances to enjoyt it over the past very strange year.  I can't help you with your question for more history for your car, but I'm glad to have you here.

Best wishes from sunny (but still not very warm) Canada.

Tim

I remember that car.  I was at C&B when John & Janet had it.

How are the seats and soft top?   They were the first off patterns done by The Oxted Trimming Company to make and supply for Cox & Buckles.

NOTE - Sadly, Oxted no longer make those parts.

Hi Ronny, welcome to the forum and congratulations on buying a TR4, a good choice.

If you were to join the club https://www.tr-registershop.co.uk/membership-11-c.asp you could take advantage of the knowledge that our hard working, volunteer registrars have collected over the years. I am sure they could help you expand your knowledge of the car and its history. Equally, you may be able to fill in a few blanks, it all goes to help keep track of these cars for future generations.

Hi Peter ,

Thanks for your reply . The seats and soft top are in very good condition . It is the small soft top as the car has it's targa fitted .

Hi Ronny,

I spoke with John Davis at lunch time today and told him his old car had resurfaced. He was pleased to hear that someone had found out about its history.

The seats, soft top, tonneau, and surrey top soft roof  were all done at the same time by Oxted.

Cheers

The interior is in very good order as are the carpets and trim . Very good work from the Oxted Trimming Company .

Ronny

Oxted Trimming are the original equipment manufacturers for Caterham Cars and used to supply Cox & Buckles with their TR range of carpets and most weather equipment.
