aleda
Hi Troops - lesson no 1, if you remove anything from the car, create a logbook stating where you have put it... Lost 2 de mister escutcheons - ouch and now I can't find the tiddley screws to refit the glovebox lid to the dashboard. It appears from Rimmer catalogue that there's 2 sizes? Can I just go to B&Q or do I have to order from Rimmer? I have been panicking that she will be ready for International but held the new dashtop, switch plinth and refurb dash in place and she looks good. I read somewhere that glue is needed to hold the dashtop down? Any other tips would be much appreciated. I'm not doing this by myself btw, just doing the research, shopping, cataloging, photographing and cleaning of the car bits. Seen photos of my refurbished wiper motor and it looks Ab Fab. Any advice much appreciated. Christine
TR 2100
Christine, I have a couple of heater vents - I had these chromed, must be 30 years ago now - you would probably want to paint them! PM me if interested. Yes - you do need to glue the dash top, mainly the front edge as the windscreen will hold down the back. AlanR
John Bracher
Yonks ago, I broke the glovebox lid off and had to replace it and the screws, which had 'amalgamated' with the wood! I got the correct size screws from a cabinet maker. Might be worth a local google??
aleda
Thanks Alan but have ordered black ones from TR Shop. Good idea John, it was actually a furniture restorer who refurbished the dash and he is going to hunt for the screws he removed and will have some if he can't find them. Now to buy some contact adhesive. Have a sunny TR driving weekend everyone. Christine
