John Morrison
About to start the reassembly of the repainted four wings and two doors on my TR4. Any particular order to refit them and is non-setting windscreen sealant still the choice of mastic for wings to inner wings around the wing beadings? Finally on another seperate, but related topic, am I correct in thinking chassis steel is 16SWG? Cheers, John.
boxofbits
Hi John I found this link to a discussion a few years back regarding the chassis...looks like the chassis turned out to be 14 swg?. Must be around 2.0 MM I'd think. https://www.tr-register.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/9343-metal-thickness-for-chassis-repairs/

The non setting windsceen sealer is the best thing to use so you can get them off again if needed. Its a messy job but worthwhile. Best assembled front wings first then work back. Stuart.
