graeme
The owner claims this is an original wing, however, I have my doubts. Any thoughts? Cheers Graeme
TR 2100
I will let others answer your question, but be aware that original wings as fitted to the car had a closing piece in the grille/headlight area welded on. If a new wing was bought as a Stanpart spare, this closing piece had to be ordered separately. I have a pair of these closing pieces in my garage - if I get a chance, I'll dig them out and add a photo. Al;anR

RogerH
Hi Graeme, on an original 4 & 4a front wing the return flange on the wheel arch at the 12-o-clock is slightly cut away - it has its own shape. On a repro it is a uniform return. Roger
stuart
Unless that forward section of the return where it bolts to the inner wing has been repaired thats not an original Stanpart. Check over the arch for a slight cut in on the return lip from about 11 oclock to 1 oclock as thats often not correct on a repro. Also look at the return section thats bolted to the "A" post where it curves at the top as the original return was a pressing and the repro has lots of slits to allow it to bend to the shape of the skin. The row of bolt holes at the bottom often doesnt have the right oval depression and the bottom lip will be missing the little cut out for the drain for the plenum water to escape Stuart.
