BlueTR3A-5EKT
...and a split pin ...and a torque wrench with suitable sized socket (is it 1. 1/8" or 1. 1/4" AF?) ...Suitable oil to top-up/re-fill after repair Plus someone with their foot on the brakes to stop it all rotating as you have a go at the big nut. They are often loose (ish) , but should be torqued up as required. Torque 85 - 100 Foot Lbs - to align split pin hole. (Is that 115 to 135 Nm ?) http://www.convertunits.com/from/ft+lb/to/N+m If the seal area of the flange is grooved, speedi-sleeve is your friend. ( sorry I do not know size off hand. TwinCamJohn
What are the required dimensions of a suitable Speedisleeve ? If they are not expensive it might be worth having one just in case. A pal is coming out from the UK in a couple of weeks.

foster461
If you clean the spines on the pinion shaft and the flange you can put some sealant on the splines before you fit the flange and stop that last bit of oil creeping up the splines and dripping on the floor.
