DaveN
Interesting article on pistons etc http://www.wbclassics.com/tech/tr6/engine/triumph-tr6-cast-piston-comparison
TriumphV8
There is another company to offer a TR6 piston. It is Nüral, a well noted supplier of car industry. Would prefer this one. But as I had perfect results with the VW piston this is my recommended way to go. It is lighter, stronger, cheaper and has a skirt coating for reduced friction. Being stronger results from hypereutectic material that allows to reduce play in the bore by 50%. For the wilder ones I would recommend the MAZDA piston, being a very similar copy of the TR6 but stronger made from hypereutectic material and larger up to 78mm for a big bore TR6. Also a wonderfull piston but a bit more work to make it fit.
barkerwilliams
Andreas, Could you please tell me if the TR6 Nüral piston needs any modification, or is it a straight replacement? Alan
TriumphV8
Hi Allan the original Nüral TR6 pistons look great and fit right out of the box.

astontr6
I looked at the TR6 Nural pistons and asked my local motor factor to get a price? I was quoted £109 each? So also after being told by 2 engine m/c shops that they had never had a problem with county pistons but they always check them carefully and weight them. This is what I went for in the end. Bruce. TriumphV8
Crazy!!!! After a short check I found this: https://www.teilehaber.de/itm/kolben-nueral-87-525707-00-src5244111.html#fitting-box-ajax These pistons are 50 Euros what is about 42 GBP. So here you get three of them for that price. The other way round is when I order British parts here in Germany In most cases its worth to search in GB although shipping is more expensive.
