Grahamgl
Good morning, Could someone please let me know what the thread type(s) are for the circular aluminium nuts that are used to hold the gauge brackets to the dashboard? I think one of them is a 2BA but not sure if this thread is the same for all the gauges. Also, are they the same across the TR range? Thanks
RogerH
Hi Graham, have a look here http://www.moss-europe.co.uk/shop-by-model/triumph/tr2-4a/electrical-system/gauges-instruments/instruments-cables-dash-switches-tr4-4a.html Item 1 & 40 refer to large and small - don't know if that is the thread or outer diameter of nut. On the TR3 it refers to 5mm and 4mm - this must be the thread diameter. 5mm is just over 2BA - but close. Roger
ed_h
On my '74, the larger finger nuts on the tach and speedo were 3BA, while those on the oil gauge were 8-32. I'm sorry that I didn't record the thread size on the smaller nuts on the rest of the gauges. Ed
