1955 TR2 rear end closing panels

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Does anyone have any really clear pictures showing how the closing panels fit together. It appears some of mine are missing. I am replacing boot floor and spare wheel well so it seems sensible to address this at the same time.

The car has a later TR3a rear apron which I intend to keep, will this affect any of the closing panels I need?

I noted that there appear to be two versions of the boot lining panels (L&R), one is a two piece panel without any drilled holes for mounting, the other is described as 'pressed' and is dearer - Rimmer site.

Which is best?

Kind regards

Adrian

Hi Adrian

All the closing panels were missing on my car. The rear of the tub had been through-bolted to the chassis legs. I made all my own closing panels except one. If you follow the link below to my restoration album, pages 4-7 may help you. I made my boot sides and the boot floor extensions as separate pieces.

You're quite welcome to call and see my tub as you are not far away. I'm in Shifnal, Shropshire.

Hi

Oh 'eck, sorry about that. That link has been fine for years, but I never use it. I have always gone directly to Photobucket.

I have replaced the link with a new one. Should be ok now.

Hi Les and Andrew

Many thanks for sharing these photos, they will be a great help to me over the next few months.

Les I may well come over and see your body tub, I cannot believe the amount of metal work you have done to get your shell rebuilt, you amaze me.

Kind regards

Adrian
