Richard71
Hello All, I think I mat be in need of a new steering rack........are there any benefits/advantages of the Quick Rack available? I'm guessing the one big disadvantage is it would make the steering even more heavier at slow speeds. Richard.
Peter Cobbold
Richard, The one I fitted 20 years ago has limited lock compared with standard. Peter
stuart
Richard, The one I fitted 20 years ago has limited lock compared with standard. Peter Back then Peter IIRC that was all that was available, my 4a has one too as it was all I could get to do the L/R conversion. They are OK but do make the steering a bit heavy at low speed with 195`s fitted. Stuart.
TriumphV8
I had quick racks in both of my TR6s. Was quite happy with them but swapped to smaller steering wheels and now have 32mm wheels in both cars and standard racks. Steering became a bit to heavy and with the small wheels I have the same effect. One of the two big ones, I think it was Moss, made a recall for the Quick racks when used in race cars because they could not stand the forces. They told in that letter I got that for street use they are okay.
