Hi,

We are nearing the end of our TR3 restoration (on a TR4 chassis with discs etc and Beta wings) after buying a 20ft container of 'bits' in boxes about 18 months ago - it's been a fun jigsaw puzzle!

I now have lots of parts for sale that I am slowly putting on ebay but 1 of the gearboxes appears to be an early TR2 gearbox and I thought that someone on here may be interested if they are doing TR2 restoration and want a correct numbered box. Checking on Rimmer it says TR2 to TS5979 and this box is TS3086 so if it is correct for a TR2 and anyone is interested give me a shout - or let me know if I'm incorrect with my thoughts on the numbers.

Thanks

Dave

Hi,

If you search ebay for Dalbuie you'll see the bigger items I've listed so far. There are lots of front suspension parts, a block, head, crank, TR3 engine mounting brackets, roof frame, windscreen surround (2), hubs - the list goes on. I'll catalogue/photograph all the rest before this weekend and let you know what there is before listing any more on ebay. Need to clear some space :-)

Cheers

Dave

Link to items for sale . . . . . . http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/dalbuie/m.html?_trksid=p3692

Hi Dave,

noting your location, and the preference for collection - that does rather limit your potential market !

If you need any thoughts re despatching stuff, then by all means ask and I'll PM my phone number.

I'm used to packing and sending TR bits, for my sins . . . .

Cheers

Alec

Thanks for the offer. Each advert says "No reserve auction for collection or delivery can be arranged at the buyers expense."

I've posted and packaged many items (parcel2go) but I'm not willing to get postal costs for them all up front. If/when anything sells then I'm happy to package and post after payment.

Hi Dave,

yes I noted your comment on the listings.

My experience has been that TR parts buyers don't always read the small print, hence if it's something I'm prepared to organise for despatch then I tend to put courier rather than collection.

I've used P2G a fair bit in the past, earlier this year sent a couple of items to Ireland and to Canada with them . . . . . both ran into delays, which happens, Customs etc. The disappointment was the P2G response, especially as tracking wasn't functioning. P2G are now contactable only by their 'live chat', and not by phone or email. Utterly hopeless, abysmal excuse for customer service. Never again !

Now I stick with www.interparcel.com - the very rare occasions I've run into a hiccup, it's taken just one short phone call to resolve the problem in hours.

Cheers

Alec

Thanks Alec,

I did notice the option on courier last night and changed all the posting without bids - you can't change the postage information on items with a bid :-(

I have had good support from MyHermes in the past but their limit is 25kg. I'll give interparcel a try.

Hi Dave,

Hermes I find very good for smaller parcels in the UK, Interparcel UPS for stuff over 10kgs and for international.

Seeing those Lockheed halfshafts, and thinking of my pal Dan (2long on Forum) in Hawaii . . . . . how do the hubs feel ?

He could do with a pair, but they have to be good enough to justify the considerable carriage cost !

Cheers

Alec

Hi Alec,

The half shafts are good - no damage - and the hubs are in good shape. There are no bearings or bearing carriers.

I also have TR4A rigid rear axle housing in good condition (inside length 44") and 2 half shafts for it (and 4 or 5 front hubs)

Time is relative. One of the more civilized places is a Hawaiian beach, with a drink in hand, a TR at the ready, and bikini-clad beachgoers soaking up the sun.

Those hubs look like they may be of use - appreciate the posting!

Cheers

Hi Dave

As you will note from my forum user name, I have a penchant for bits in boxes, so wondered if there any other items you have which might be of interest to us before they are 'bayed'?

Regards

Kevin

Hi,

As promised here's an album of all the parts just now that are not on ebay - http://s360.photobucket.com/user/dalbuie/library/TR3%20Parts?sort=3&page=1

Cheers

Change of plans with the engine bits mean I have 2 blocks, 2 heads, 2 crankshafts, conrods, and various other engine parts. I'll do some cleaning and measuring and post more details but if any interest let me know before fleabaying...

Thanks
