MJK
Just to close this one off. I found a 3/8" female to 1/2" male socket converter, at B&Q for less than £2, that works with my socket set (i.e. the 1/2" drive pin is removable from the ratchet) and managed to get the diff plug loose. I'll be replacing it with a hexagonal head plug though!!! Pete - The 8 point sockets are like hens teeth to find in the UK, and very expensive when you do find them but seem to be readily available from the US, with horrendous freight charges. Once again, thanks for all the tips, Malcolm
peejay4A
I got my 8 point from eBay. A while back though.
JJC
Does anyone know how much oil is left in the overdrive if you just drain the gearbox? JJC
dpb
About 0.4litres
JJC
Thanks - as I'm getting rid of what I've now discovered is GL5 I think it's worth draining that half litre.JJC
dpb
Actually that was not quite right. 0.4 litres is the difference between a completely dry box and overdrive, and ones which have just been drained, so there will probably be more in if you haven't drained the overdrive.
