Big end and main bearings

Hi

Just had the crank reground and im looking for advise on bearings

Are county bearings ok as supplied by rimmers?

The crank is 30 undersize and the block is a 2.2 very mild upgrade

Any experiances apreciated

Hi Tony,

the county bearings are fine for normal use, touring etc.

 

For racing investigate the more expensive offerings.

Hello Tony this ebay company have quite a few original sets (vanguard) but are fine, worth a try.

Those Glacier bearings are one third of the cost of modern equivalents, TR and Vanguard engines utilised the same main bearings . . . .

 

Don't be tempted by the Ensign Deluxe head gaskets also on offer, though - the same 2138cc capacity as the TR, but utilising the smaller diameter Vanguard type studs.
