GT6M
Yip, really funny as how no one actually told the OP aboot how to actually set his rocker gaps correctly. and as I said, not by the book, if they worn . It is funny, and baffling to me, how He was given wrong info, either deliberatly, or thru lack of actual engineering / hands on knowledge. or simply that this info just cant be fathomed oot by some, cos its not in the WM !!! TriumphV8
Yip, really funny as how no one actually told the OP aboot how to actually set his rocker gaps correctly. and as I said, not by the book, if they worn . Again as my warnings before may be lost: Scrap rockers must be changed immediately when detected. The round shape of the tip is a must to survive and if hammered flat the result and influence on the valve train is worse than it may look. It does not matter if they are thrown into the bin or refurbished. in the actual shape they will quickly destroy the valve train. By the way: If the engine survives with wrong clearance set it is not the proof that proper clearance may be neglected but it is only a sign that the owner did not bring the engine to the limit where it would have been destroyed quickly. We should not continue the discussion if scrap can be kept in the engine and fiddled to work. If not an expert to judge I would recommend if something looks different just with bare eyes better replace it.
