Research of history TS1953

Recommended Posts

HI, currently i'm doing some research of the history of my TR2 with number TS1953. The TR2 was when i purchased it in white with red trim. I own the TR2 from 2008, and is imported from Belgium in 2008. The owner in Belgium own the TR2 from 1991. The man in Belgium probably imported the car from North Amerika. When i was restoring the car i found a plate that the car was restored for Bill and Rosanne, probably in North Amerika. The original color of the TR2 when it left the factory it was black with germanium trim.

Between 1954 and 1991 i have no information of previous owners etc, probably there is someone in this forum, that have more information about the TR2 history?

Every little detail is welcome.

According to records, the full commission number is TS1953L, indicating it left the factory as a LHD car without overdrive. Some factory traces (birth certificates) show a delivery destination. If it went to the USA and any of the owners there were car club members, Vintage Triumph Register or Triumph Register of America may be able to help. VTR club magazine's editor was a senior executive of Standard-Triumph in America, so he may have personal knowledge you could tap into.

Hi,

Just interest really, I have recently acquired TS 1951 & am restoring it. It has been used for racing or rallying and is now pretty tired. Mine is Black & probably beige interior. I am waiting on a trace from the Register.

Keep you posted

You might find you will get a bit more info with a Heritage trace, I had more when I got mine for TS1013

Interesting...

TS1951-O is STILL alive and well in New Zealand ...yes it is white and the engine number above also seems to agree with our records ...and it has been here for a long time.

Does someone have another TR2 that thinks it is TS1951-O ...that would be fascinating. Or is there a wee error in Nick's posting????
