Bodiam
Have recently had the knob pull off a CP series choke cable just a year after first fitting. My supplier has sent a replacement, but the knob pulled off this too the second time it was used. Also, the "twist to lock" feature isn't working. The supplier says he has had no other complaints, but I would be pleased to hear if anyone else has had the same problem recently - the way the knob is fitted is not obvious and I'm not keen to keep on changing cables if I'm going to keep having the same problem. Many thanks for any info. John
Mark69
Hi John I have heard that the replacement cables are not up to scratch. I think there may be a thread on here which will confirm your problems . Mark
jojim65
Hi John, Oh this is a subject close to my heart, I have spent a lot of time and even more money trying to sort this out. Unlike the other knobs the choke knob is not made to come off so to fit you feed the cable through the switch console and secure from behind. If you try and fit by pulling off the knob and then refitting it will eventually fall off, locking is at best occasional, clothes pegs do work well though. Aftermarket choke cables vary in quality, I eventually bought from James Paddock, and so far so good. Please PM me if you want the long version. Jim
Bodiam
Hi, Mark and Jim, Thank you for your comments - there do seem to be a number of issues with these cables, don't there? Jim, have sent PM. Regards, John
ianc
John (and others): Have you completed a PQI Report? If you do, then Ian Brown and Roger Hogarth can investigate further. Ian Cornish
