BruceA
Hi I'm in the process of converting a Lhd TR4 to Rhd and was hoping someone could tell me what the difference is between a TR4 dash and a TR4a dash backing are they essentially the same part and if not can the TR4a part be modified to do the job? Cheers Bruce
AlfredHitchcock
Bruce Ive done exactly this. From this http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z24/twincam-escort/P1030586_zps5f2b78da.jpg to this http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z24/twincam-escort/tr4/P1040727_zpsa90b6aba.jpg The only differences are the shape of the hole that the steering column passes through and the switch plinth mounting brackets stick out further on the 4 to accommodate the different size. gaz2trs
ok dilena I collected most parts to do a works rally rep airscoop lamp bar wing vents ally surry top and a set of are silverstones wheels just all sitting there waiting took a long time to find don't think the reps going to get done any time soon but find these parts again very hard and the cost would be large going to sit on them for now may be it was about the chase who nose Gary
TRnorm
Hi Bruce, I guess you have a metal LHD dash? If so, why not cut it up and convert/weld it to RHD. That's exactly what I did many years ago and it now looks the boules de chiens - if I do say it myself! Certainly less costly but the cutting has to be done with some precision. I have a photo somewhere of it in sections reconfigured on a chipboad base ready for re-welding. If you're interested I could try to look it out Norman Edited April 3, 2015 by TRnorm
