Bob Smith
Nigel, Had this problem many years ago with my 1967 4A traced eventually to the fuse box having corroded contacts - however don't know if it applies in the same way to TR5.
RogerH
Hi Nigel you need a wiring diagram and voltmeter http://www.advanceautowire.com/ Simply trace the wires back to the switch to see where the leccy stops/starts. Roger
mjc
Check the red/green wire bullet connecter under the dash coming from the light switch. It goes to the fuses and then onto the side lights. I had this problem only last week and I found a bad spade connection on the red/green wire going into the fuse board. It was a brand new wiring loom as well. Mike
Herald948
It might simply be a case of the fuse itself not making good contact, and/or connections to that fuse (as others have noted) being "iffy"! Often, just wiggling that fuse a bit will get the lights working again.
