JJC
Does the loom pull through into the dash from the engine compartment to remove it? I need to treat it carefully as I wish to reuse it. Advice from someone who's done it would be gratefully received. JJC
YankeeTR5
That's how I did mine on the 5 when I removed it. Had already taken heater, dash etc out though as part of a total teardown.
AlanT
The fat part just near the scuttle/bulkhead is quite a tight fit. I removed the rubber grommet. But this leaves a sharp edge. The usual view on here is to scrap looms rather than re-furbishing them. I remade mine just replacing dodgy wires. It seemed easy to me but I've lots of experience with wiring. stuart
If there is any doubt about the integrity of the loom then fit a new one. These guys are very good and will also fit relays etc into the loom for proper supply to Headlights/Fuel pump/Kenlowe etc.http://www.autosparks.co.uk/ Stuart.
JJC
Many thanks for your help. As ever the Forum is what a chap needs. Take the point about new looms might well think about that. JJC
