Steves_TR6
.....and if so where can I buy 'good' ones from? Many a thread on here about pads for the standard callipers, and for replacement callipers too. I'm a fan of the Mintex pads, in either case, but what about the brake shoes? Mine are of uncertain vintage/quality so what to replace them with?? Steve
Richardtr3a
I had some problems with brake shoes. My suggestion is to have your own shoes relined. My replacements were a slightly different radius and I could not adjust the rear brakes properly until I found some original old ones. This is on my TR3A. Good luck
Andrew Smith
Steve, Neil recommended this to me to balance my Hawk pads, see: http://www.cambridgemotorsport.com/Historic-Racing-Parts-Brake-Shoe-Re-lining Cheers Andrew

Andrew Smith
Do you now need 4 pot brakes? Haven't got round to it yet Neil as I haven't got a donor set of shoes to send off, but if replacing the Grenstuff pads with Hawk HPS is anything to go by then, no. Has anyone got a set of brake shoes going spare for relining; happy to pay postage and any reasonable cost? Edit: have also put an ad in the BST section.
