Backlight - Ragtop fixing (Part No.)

Recommended Posts

Hi Fellahs

Can someone help me out with a part number?

Recently fitted Surrey & Back light - took hardtop off and went to put rag top in its place.

Only to find that the two bolts that screw up through the back light frame into the captive nuts on the ragtop are missing.

Never mind I thought, it'll wait until next week, meantime I will pop along to the Hurworth Grange Classic Meeting yesterday as there is no rain forecast until 5pm.

Ended up up heading home at speed in the rain about 12 noon! = Wet wife and spaniel.

So, had a quick look at Revingtons site but not entirely clear to me what part I need.

Had a quick scan around some 4a's yesterday and there were several different types - some home made, most featuring a wing-bolt of some sort.

Thanks

Phil

Hi Phil,

on my 4A I use two 5/16UNF screws/bolts apprx 1.5" long and a washer under the head. This is done up with a socket.

Some people have a piece of 5/16" studding fixed in the ragtop and a wing nut on the inside to tighten down (this could damage the material when folded though).
