Mike Graham
Anyone have a alternate part number for this bearing? Looks like 41-03062 on one I have (found that Timkin has a 03062 which seem like might be right). Just looking for this one not the inner bearing. Part number and online sources would be nice ... especially if they were in Canada. Suspect this is same bearing from TR3 to TR6. Cheers, Mike
BlueTR3A-5EKT
Mike is this link of any use? http://www.bearing-king.co.uk/bearing/03062-03162-timken/6015 The wheel bearings on the front of the TR are the same from TR2-TR6 Cheers Peter W PS Monkey Wrench are in Canada. They offer Timken bearings for the front of a TR6 plus hubs! Could be worth a telephone call. Bargain price too for 03062 https://www.thewrenchmonkey.ca/products/auto-parts/TIMKEN/03062/ link https://www.thewrenchmonkey.ca/auto-parts/Triumph/TR6/1975/wheel-bearing-and-hub-assembly/ Edited April 19, 2013 by BlueTR3A-5EKT
peter clarke
The outer bearing takes a deal of load and from experience do not fit "no name" brands which are available from some suppliers quite cheap. Refer to TRF comments on their web, pay the $ and do the job right 1st time.
Mike Graham
Thanks to you both. Not seen that site before. Yes, I want to do the job properly. Cheers, Mike
RandallD
Mike- Not sure if this is cost effective for Canada, but try www.rockauto.com if you can - I've purchased Timkin bearings from them for several years now and have not found a better price. Mike Graham
Thanks Randy. Wee bit cheaper at Rockauto, but shipping makes.up the price difference. Cheers, Mike
vivdownunder
Hi Mike, I've also used Timken outers p/n 03062 cone/03162 cup for years. If you want to keep the inner wheel bearing numbers on file, they are Timken p/n 07100S cone/07210X cup. Suppliers sometimes try and substitute non genuine products, but TR front wheel bearings are marginal, so plain box (or Italian - don't ask !) items are best avoided. Genuine Timkens packed with high quality wheel bearing grease are well proven in service. Regards, Viv
Mike Graham
Viv, thanks for the info on the inner parts. The vendor has confirmed they sell only genuine Timken parts. Cheers, Mike
