Mike Ramshaw
Hi all A question from a complete beginner. I have recently purchased a 1965 TR4 in what I would call Powder Blue. Along with numerous other things the paint work needs some attention. In the short term my brother (who is responsible for getting me interested in classic cars) is going to respray some areas before a full respray at the end of the year. He has asked me to find out the 'paint code' Can anyone help.
Superaquarama
Powder Blue is probably right, the only other candidate might be Wedgwood Blue which is of course similar to the Wedgwood Jasper pottery and fairly distinct. Don't know the paint code offhand, but if you contact Paul at Jawel Paints he can doubtless help and can, incidentally, supply it in cellulose. http://www.jawel.co.uk/index.php?main_page=contact_us
Rob Salisbury
Hi, you'll find the paint code on the Commission Plate (paint and trim codes), and you should find the Commission Plate on the nearside front bulkhead just in front of the wiper motor. Cheers, Rob
Superaquarama
Is there a translation for these anywhere, Rob ? 'Original TR' book has some but not all the paint codes and no trim codes. Wedgwood is 26, Mike, but the book doesn't say what Powder is.
Mike Ramshaw
Thanks guys I'll have a look on the commission plate in the morning and make contact with Paul at Jawel Paints. Mike
stuart
You could also try Ken & Lyn paints on 01298814813/07778165966 as they can supply cellulose and or 2pack to match (especially useful if the paint has faded or its been painted in a previously mixed colour). Send them the vent flap lid and he will accurately match to it. They are in Buxton and I use them all the time. Stuart.

Hi Superaquarama, did a bit of google research, .... apparently Powder Blue is one of 4 colours used by Triumph that didn't have a code number, the others being Spa White, pre '64 B.R.Green and Velasquez Cream!! Cheers Rob
