Hello,

Yesterday we finished our participation in the " II Rallye Internacional Mil Milhas Históricas Brasileiras"

Inspection of the car was done by Wednesday afternoon and Rallye was held from Jone 21 to June 24.

Around 65 cars has done the application and 51 has been approved.

Among them 2 Triumphs: the TR4 1962 with ROGERIO

FRANZ/MARIO NARDI (last year champions) and our TR3A 1959.

Even with speedometer and gearbox problems, Rogerio and Mario, managed to finish in third place overall.

Prizes has been given to the 3 best positions in each category:

Category C (Vintage) - from 1919 to 1930

Category D (Pos-Vintage) - from 1931 to 1945

Category E (Post-War) - from 1946 to 1960

Category F (Historic) - from 1961 to 1970

Category G (Classic) - from 1971 to 1980

In the F category the TR4 team got the third place.

In the E category our TR3A got the third place (with a bit of lucky since we got a high score of lost points). And everything went well with the car except one lost headlamp RIM and a perplex window broken.

Stuart, Richard and Peter,

Thanks for the messages.

Let me try the link for the pics again (sorry!):

It should work now.

Peter,

Yes, you can say it is the Brazilian version of the Mille Miglia ( FIVA licence number B038/2012).

This is the second year and it is indicated in the FIVA list of events but it is not yet part of the world championship since a minimum of 3 years in a row is required to be part of the championship.

Regards,

Reinaldo.

James,

It is not typical to get rain during our winter. Especially that sort of heavy rain.

During the 1st and 2nd day we said it was "very British" to have 4 cars in a row in a rainy road (it was a yellow E type Jaguar, the Austin Westminster, the Healey and mine) !

Menno,

Scenery was especially beautiful because of the soft green color developed by the unusual rain.

Prior to the trip I have changed the 10 tenaxes (both male and female) in the soft top over the windscreen. Very good investment: no water inside the car ! Majority of the other convertibles got in big trouble trying to deal with the water leaking.

Andrew,

Regarding adventure, my biggest surprise was my wife that was able to hang on despite the hundreds of curves in a far from confortable car !

I would love to cross the ocean and be present in an event in UK. Let me dream about it and - who knows - may be one day get a sponsor to bear the costs.......

Laurence

Good choice for vacations, Goiania is very beautiful despite the fact that it is not a major target for tourists.

Thanks for the answers !

Reinaldo
