DM2 vs 25D Distributors

Recommended Posts

Apart from the DM2 having screwed vacuum connection and side lead entry distributor cap does anyone know if there are any other differences between these two distributors?

Has anyone fitted an Accuspark replacement system? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170733088913?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

Martin

I bought a new distributor from AccuSpark but with points and it's superb, arguably better than an original Lucas and about £40.

The only dodge was the the plug leads faced rearwards rather than pointing away from the engine, so I found a Lucas distributor cap and used that. He does the red rotor arm too.

Hello Ian

I have the positive earth Accuspark electronic ignition fitted to my TR4.

Have had no problems at all.

For the price, I think it is a bargain.

Regards

Peter

The low voltage entry plug is different

No it isn't, but that distributor can have three caps, one forward facing, one rearward and one outward. The correct TR3/4 cap fits on and points outward, but theirs, which costs £4.99, faces towards the rear of the car.
