Help with bonnet alignment please

Recommended Posts

Hi JJC

Found the above coment good advice

You need to fit the side rubber buffers and the stops in the corner slightly low

I needed to use a side spacer on one side were it fits the inner wing which i made although you shouldn't need one

once it is flat and closed and as you want it then tighten the mounts for the hinges on the inner wings and then tighten all other bolts gradualy so as not to move the position

You would be best with two people

Good luck

Mark

Also make sure that the two bolts on the side straps of the hinges to the bonnet are of the correct length otherwise you will have two dimples in the bonnet skin! When aligning the bonnet catch just nip the bolts so it will still just move and then with the bonnet cable pulled right out just gently bring the bonnet down until the pin just engages and self centres itself then tighten up.

Stuart.
