hi guys

i am after a second hand tonio cover /hood

the one on the three is perished

stuart has kindly offered one i could borrow, however i would be paranoid

that it would get damaged.

the plan is to buy a new one in a couple of years when the car under goes a full

restoration

but i do need something that is serviceable mean while

There were several different tonneau covers. Firstly there was the one for the very early TR2 where the material along the top of the dashboard was longer to snap onto the pegs which were very far forward. Then they moved the pegs back to fit onto the coping along the top of the trim above the dashboard. My early TR3A (TS 27489 LO) had a peg that was low near the top of the quarter panel behind the "B" post. My tonneau cover has no slit in it at the top of this quarter panel. Later, S-T came out with a tonneau cover which is slotted along the top corner and they moved that top peg higher on the bodywork.

My black TR3A shows this peg a bit lower than the late red TR3A where that top peg is higher.

So the tonneau you need depends where that top peg is located.

Pinky,

Good to meet at Malvern, and I am very pleased to see that you now have a sidescreen car. It looks very good from the photos.

I understand that the position of the fixings differs from car to car so there is no guarantee that a second hand hood or tonneau will fit.

However I do have a couple lying around that might help; have sent you a PM.

Dave
