Alec Pringle
Cillit Bang works pretty well - ask your wife if you don't know what it is ! Cheers, Alec
SuzanneH
Tooth brush and toothpaste gets into the grooves well and is slightly abrasive for the more persistent marks. Sue
RogerH
Hi Nick, if the above doesn't work you will need something more aggressive. The shades are made of plastic. It is possible with a solvent to remove the very top surface and get back to almost pristine plastic beneath. I used cellulose thinners and a short haired stipple brush. Stipple the cellulose into an area of apprx 2" x 2" for a few seconds and wipe dry with a lint free cloth. Keep a keen eye on the surface to ensure that not too much 'cleaning' takes place. Repeat until the whole surface is clean using a new piece of clean cloth for each square. Now, very quicky cover the whole surface in one go and remove quickly with the lint free cloth. This merge any patchiness into one surface. The success depends on speed and monitoring the effect. Once they are clean use Alec's Cillit bang (I'm sure he's got plenty) to keep clean. I did mine over 12 years ago and they still look clean (ish) Roger
marco
I used ordinary household bleach on mine, worked very well, but do,nt leave it on too long! it may damage the surface.Wash it off with water after.
