Hood Folding

Recommended Posts

Hi All.

I've just had a new Mohair hood fitted and was wondering if anyone could advise me on the best way to fold it so as not to damage the windows.

Many Thanks

Dex

hi Dex

Unzip the back 1 and let it down then lower the hood keep in the side ones out side the car so they fold

in over the top . Just avoid crease in them and they should stay great . Mine are 38 years old and still good .

If i have explianed it wrong sorry some body put me right please.

Hello Dex

1 unpop all the poppers on the rib bars inside.

2 unpop the side ones

3 loosen the velcro off the sides

4 undo the front handles

5 grab just on the fold next to the rear window (best with two of you)

6 Pull upwards whist pulling the front bar into its final resting place. You should now have the hood on the boot.

7 fold sides on top of hood

8 Fold whole lot over into car Should now have rear window on top.

9 fit hood storeage cover.

Hope this helps

That's exactly how I do mine. Been fitted for about 6 years now and windows are still perfect.

Having said that, it is usually down all the time anyway :) , but when I do use it - that's the way I do it.

Dont forget to cover the securing pins with a cloth or small sponge as they will mark the hood when stored in this way ;)

Thanks for that Niall ...will do
