Willem
Between the 3 metal parts of the inlet manifold are 4 rubber tubes. On my car they need to be replaced. Currently they are fixed with tie-wraps is that sufficient or should i fix them with hose clamps. Anyone knows the original config?? Thanx Willem
Richard71
Hi Willem, Most owners use hose clamps of various types. Tie wraps aint the best, they get brittle with heat and easily break. Richard.
Mike C
Hi Willem. I have an early CP engine which has only two of those tubes. They are not fitted with any clamps at all.I have no starting problems or lean spark plug readings that would indicate manifold leakage. In the Triumph and Haymes manuals there are no clamps shown. However if you want to fit clamps I cannot see reason why not.

Your right Mike i found a picture in Bill Piggott's book showing no clamps at all. Since a leakfree vacuumsystem is very important (i was told??) for proper fuel metering i will fit the clamps Richard. Thanks again. Willem
88V8
When new, the hoses are pliable and do not need clips. However, with age....? Prestige rebuilt my injection, and Malcolm put Jubilee clips on the (new) balance hoses. What's good enough for Malcolm..... Ivor
Guest ntc
Hi The best thing to do is clip all as Ivor has done Edited March 22, 2009 by ntc

Thanx Willem Hi Willem if you are using the bottom clamp you only need jubilee clips on the end rubbers if you have no bottom clamp use four clips all they are doing is holding the plenum on i do not think it matters if they leak a bit the bottom clamp is a night mare exspeally if you are always playing with the engine it is from the butterflies onwards that matter that's what i think regards pink
