trfella
Bl**dy hell - is there anything that doesn't rattle or clatter?? Hey Quark, if you want clatter free - buy an Audi ETA - it is probably the bonnet stay as I have the same thing on mine. I was thinking about putting some heatshrink tubing on it to see if that would quieten it down somewhat... but that's a long way down the list on my particular car Edited January 6, 2009 by trfella
88V8
Bl**dy hell - is there anything that doesn't rattle or clatter?? It could also be the skeleton of the previous owner's wallet.
Kiwifrog
It could also be the skeleton of the previous owner's wallet. Or the skeleton of the previous owner after his wife found the reciepts for all the "little bits" done to the car
RogerH
Hi TRfella, the heatshrink will work. Cover the whole stay in one length. It looks good. Try also to put some sleeving around the hole that the stay passes through as the metal edge will eventually cut through the heatshrink. Roger

Quark
The bonnet stay!!!! I thought it might have been something more serious and I had rummaged about under the bonnet without finding anything loose, forgetting that the stay was holding the bonnet up! Dumb arse or what! Thanks guys - if I get another rattle, at least I will now have more ideas where to look............
