david ferry
Gary, Assuming you mean the aluminium plates stamped with a number and without any of the other information found on the commission number plate, these cannout be bought as a new item. However, you may be able to make a replacement if you have access to the correct stamping or engraving equipment that would allow you to mark the body number onto an appropriately shaped piece of aluminium. Personally, I would stick with what you have and not worry about it, as the numbers don't mean a great deal. David
TR 2100
hi dudes anyone tell me if you can buy the body no plates not chasis no plates mine is in to need a new one cheers gary Gary, You need to clarify exactly what you mean. There was a commission number plate, with the commission number stamped on, painted black with various raised lettering giving some general data on the car. This was fixed to the bulklhead near the wiper motor (rhd cars). Then there was what was strictly the body number - a plain aluminium plate with nothing but the CT body number stamped on. This was fixed to the bulkhead behind the battery. (Positions valid for early 4s, I think later ones were the same) The former are sort-of available though may be subject to some restrictions to avoid 'cloning' a car's identity. The latter have never been available. AlanR
