How to fix the '4' engine to a stand?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Busy day today - body off, chassis outside for a jetwash (was covered with the nicest mix of mud and oil I've seen in a long time - good news is most of it is OK), then engine and gearbox out and split.

Would like to put the engine on the stand, but not really sure of how - could put some thin bots into the bell housing holes - but will that be strong enough? Other option would be the side with the spark plugs on it (less tuning moment on the stand) - but again looks tricky - any suggestions?

Thanks

Chris

Hello Chris

I used long bolts and homemade spacers, also had a length of wood as a 'security' measure to prop the free end of the engine while working on it.

Best of luck
