Bully
The TR4A rebuild is coming along nicely, rolling chassis all finished, engine should be complete this week, and body off being blasted. Thoughts are now turning to the interior and wiring. As I am converting from LHD to RHD, I want to buy a new loom, and it has been suggested a 13 strand core wiring would be better than the original 9 strand wiring. Does anybody have any experience or knowledge where i can buy such an octopus?

Stuart. A purpose built loom is a great idea, much neater, but bespoke looms can be expensive. Capital E. They are labour intensive. Not saying they are not good value, but be warned. I think they only charge an extra tenner for each extra provision they put in. Stuart.
Menno van Rij
I've bought my TR3A loom from Advance Auto Wire. It will take some time to get the loom delivered (remember: all is being hand-made!), but the quality is great. $420 = about 210 GBP, I think. Off course, there's VAT to be payed. Just send them an email! Communcation-wise they are also great! Menno
piman
Hello Bully, I think that you have the strand numbers wrong. The lightest cables are 14 strand and increase from there depending on their load. Wiring looms are made with the appropriate sized cables to suit, i.e they have different sized cables incorporated. Unless you are planning on increasing the load significantly I would leave as standard. The only circuit that can benefit from larger cables are the head lights as they will then be brighter (Usually with relays to control them) Alec
