Control Box Reference

Recommended Posts

The Lucas parts catalogue for June 1962 states as follows :

Control box Model RB106-2 Part number 37290E

Then on the next line it then states

Control box (later) Model RB106-2 Part number 37283E

For all subsequent years to 1966 the Control box listed is the Model RB106-2 Part number 37283E.

Also this is the box I have on my 1964 TR4 and the fixing points do match those in the bodywork.

Hope this helps in your search.

Regards, Richard

Paul,

The first mention of the TR4A is in the 1966 Lucas catalogue and it quotes the following for the control box :

Model RB106-2

Part Number 37283E/F

I do not know what the suffixes denote.

The Lucas catalogues I have only cover the Triumph models for each year, used I presume by either the Lucas Branches or Triumph Dealers.

Paul,

It appears that only the suffix is different, i.e. F for the TR4 and E/F for the TR4A.

I always thought that the TR4A was offered with an alternator as an optional extra and then became standard at the end of the production run, but now checking this in these Lucas Catalogues the parts are not listed?

Regards, Richard
