ukdaasfan
Hi, After having to put my TR into storage due to major house rebuild have taken it out and oops. Cluthc pedal is rock solid. Disengaged the able from the slave and started moving fine. Does this mean the slave is knackered ? How can I check ? Cheers Ben
Maxwell
Thought I'd bring Ben back to the top.... someone must be able to offer a new Forum Member advice regarding a stuck clutch! Come back, Alec! Good Luck, Ben... My TR7 is also up on stands at the moment! Maxwell
malcolm
Hi chaps. If you look here http://www.tr-register.co.uk/tr7_8.htm#faq (can be found from the main website menu by clicking "TR7 + 8" then "TR7/8 Forum Frequently Asked Questions HERE") there is a section of advice on freeing a stuck clutch. Good luck, they usually work! Malcolm. Edited January 9, 2008 by malcolm
ngtf
If the clutch pedal is rock solid as you say but free's off when you disconnect the slave cylinder then, yes, I would suspect that the salve cylinder needs either refurbishing or possibly replacing. Just remove from the vehicle and dismantle as per Haynes manual. If the cylinder bore is too badly scored, it would be prudent to replace the whole unit. If you would like, I have the TR7 factory manual on cd which can be despatched to you for postage cost. Sometimes it's easer to have the cd than to download the manual, just pm me if you would like a copy. There are a lot more than just one or two members who can help but we don't always have the time to respond immediately. Regards Gary
