Hi All

An interesting topic title and I can't wait for the comments... but it is a genuine question.

My rubber water hoses are deteriorating and will need replacing soon. Thumbing through the MOSS performance catalogue which arrived a couple of weeks ago, I saw the nice shiney silicon hoses which don't deteriorate like rubber does (or something similar).

Trouble is, they are 4x the price... Are they worth it? Anyone with experience?

Many thanks

Rob

If you are raising this, and thanks, can we also bring in Kevar Re-inforced hoses from the likes of TR Shop (like what I bought from Malvern last year). Are there any benefits in these over silicone or rubber?

Regards

Tim

Hi Rob,

I changed to silicon radiator hoses several years ago and changed all the heater hoses at the same time. They still look absolutely brand new with no deterioration at all. I would heartlly recommend them.

On the other hand I changed my rubber trunnion dust seals three years ago and they have completely disintegrated and have now been replaced with poly seals from Revington. I just don't trust modern rubber and have gone for poly and silicon wherever possible.

Regards

Les

My personal preference is the Kevlar hoses as I am not too happy about any type of silicon anywhere near my workshop as I do paintwork as well. May be a bit paranoid but silicon contamination is every painters nightmare.
