  1. Gosnay’s said the big end radii were ground OK and that is the area of concern, so I’m going to fit it. I had thought they could have increased the radius on the center main journal to allow a radius improvement with the use of oversize thrust washers? but I guess if the failures occur close to the big end journals and they don't brake close to the mains, then the job has been done to a satisfactory level. if I can get some pictures to show the areas that I was not happy with I will post them up.
  2. Thanks for the response guys. I’ve now spoken with the guy who grounded the Crankshaft and he assured me that the best job which could be done was done, and that the dulling on the oil scroll and oil seal land is a byproduct of cleaning and will brighten with the lightest of hand polishing with 800. Had this area been brought back to polish or I had been informed of the remedy when collecting the crank, I might have not been so critical. It could also be that because Ive been Internet studying, and out of the engine building arena for a very long while. I may be over critical having
  3. Hi to all I was a competent mechanic (S&G time served apprentice) back in the 80’s and now trying to get a machine shop to do what I consider to be a good job on a pair of cranks is driving me insane. The cranks (now -020 and -030) have come back with poor attention to the journal to web radii and they haven’t protected the scroll seal and conversion seal track- area when shot piening. This now needs to be re-polished to try and recover the oil scroll and conversion seal track area. This means more time and effort along with the prospect of further let downs. I need to get moving on m
  4. Hi Tony, I’m in the UK. Reading this, I wonder if you produce this or something similar with the same features which you sell? My car is a 4A If not, do you know of anyone who is willing to share a file so that I could get a friend of mine to mill me one? Regards Nick
  5. I bought this car when I was 22 years old from chap in the Sunbury-on-Thames area 1983 Approximately. I owned it until 2005, selling it was a painful decision but finances forced my hand. 3 weeks ago I bought it back. I saw Peter Moffatt’s post regarding information he has about the vehicle and I’ve sent him a personal message. I hope he gets my message, as I would be very interested to see what he knows about the car. It had been written off in an accident which was the only way I could afford to buy one, but it was quickly repaired used. I then restored it and used it many ti
