RogerH
Hi folks, we have mentioned many times on here the quality of some of our parts is an issue. But it is not only thje domain of car parts. The last few weeks I have been playing with electronics (overdrive logic boxes). I collected fifty 555 timers from RS Comp[s - they were ALL dead. The same thing happened about two years ago. It is easy to get your money back but it shouldn't happen. Yesterday and today I wasted to many hours looking for a fault on a newly made board. It turned out to be a bad component - there were only three items a 555 timer ( that was good) , a resistor ( that tested OK) and a 10uf capacitor that I can't easily test.. Changed all three items and it works fine. aaarrrggghhhhh So our duff car parts are probably part of the norm. Roger
RobH
Sounds as though you need an LCR tester Roger. e.g this sort of thing: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Transistor-Multi-function-Colorful-Backlight-Capacitor/dp/B0B7X35BBT/ref=sr_1_11?keywords=electronic+component+tester&qid=1701365335&sr=8-

Charlie D
Ah.... But how do you test the tester to make sure it's not got a fault on it.
