Neale1969
Since I’ve now been able to begin enjoying my Tr3a after what seems to have been a lifetime ( well the lifetime and more of my children…the progress of the car and them are connected!) I’ve been mulling over when I first became interested in Tr3’s. I can trace it back to my teen years in the late 80’s but more recently..still 20 odd years back I remember my enthusiasm for the model being settled whilst watching the Fast Show. I am risking copyright infringement here by posting a picture of the sketch I refer too. I’m sure everyone recalls it and I wonder if the car used in the show is owned by someone on this forum? Would love to know? Does anyone have any info?
BlueTR3A-5EKT
Thanks for posting that photo. I have no idea who owns the car though.
Neale1969
I was trying to find a shot from the front, they used to sit on…the rear apron? Is that what I can call it? Well at least over the hood sticks ahead of the filler cap….and look directly to the camera. Funny but my memory has them with a red car but memory plays tricks as this looks to be black. I love this photo!

JK Bonnett
5892VX. Not only still listed on the DVLA website but is currently taxed. So it must be in the UK.

Napoleon
5892 VX has an interesting MOT history, albeit some years ago. It will be exempt from needing an MOT, but nonetheless I think the history shown here highlights the benefit of having an annual check anyway . . . Here's the link, scroll down to MOT History and click on that: https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/results?registration=5892VX&checkRecalls=true Rod
Neale1969
I had no idea all that info was available on gov.uk. Registered in 1982…a USA import? Or? Maybe someone connected to the show had it at the time back in the 90’s. Happy to know it’s taxed. The owner of it might just still pop up here and give us the story…. Hi Neale, This is the information on another DVLA site; Registered April 1982, so imported from wherever (may have been originally LHD) and given an age-related plate or a cherished number. Looks like it may have changed hands in June 2023 or it could be just a change of address etc. (New logbook/V5C issued 19th June 2023). https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/VehicleFound?locale=en Rod
Napoleon
5892 VX was originally an Essex number: https://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/registrations/vx.htm Rod
