When it gets a bit of charge when running it's fine for the rest of the day. Roy For that reason I have always use a Stag Battery. I get near instant starting after 3 to 4 months of lay up. The size of + wire to pump is very important must be rated at least 30 amp along with the earth wire to the inner wing. The earth tag is often very rusty must be cleaned off. Bruce.
