PGB BME
I’ve got a nice Radiomobile push button radio, but, the the tuning knob works(rotates the wheel etc inside) but the pointer doesn’t move. any ideas on a fix? Phil
RogerH
Hi Phil, when you turn the tuning knob the wheel inside will/should turn. This is a two part wheel with a clutch. Is the output of this wheel turning - or is the clutch slipping??? It could be slipping because the pointer is stuck or it has got oily. If the pointer is stuck - have you pressed the station selectors repeatedly - a good bit of exercise. Roger
PGB BME
Hi Roger the knob rotates the wheel and the spindle rotates when I press the station buttons the spindle and wheel moves the pointer seems unwilling to move unless I physically push it left or right, (very stiff) can I spray the mechanism to get it moving or will I damage the internals? Pointer will now move about 5mm each way off centre but no further Phil
RogerH
Hi Phil, rather than spray - use a cotton bud on any/all joints. 3-in-1 oil or Servisol etc When you press one of the front buttons the clutch disengages and the back of the button pushes a pair of rods (tuning frame) to set the tuning coils You could hold open the clutch and try to move the tuning frame with a finger/sticky thing. I can't see a tuning coil making it stiff. Roger
PGB BME
Roger the tuning bar will move slightly with the turning of the knob, but then nothing! I can make the tuning bar move backwards and forwards manually so it’s not stuck solid at a given point, I’ll try some 3in 1 oil Phik
