Motorsport Mickey Posted August 27, 2022 Report Share Posted August 27, 2022 (edited) As Mike says, short thread into the head...also the endmost manifold stud often breaks through and tightens onto the end cylinder head studs. So when doing a stripdown remove the manifold studs before trying to remove cylinder head studs. Otherwise if you undo the cylinder studs first you'll be tugging trying to lift a head locked firmly into place by the manifold stud "snubbing" against it.
