Charlie D
Hello All, In my most resent quest to discover every sort of wheel balancing machine ever made I came across this today. I’ve seen many examples of other types of balancer, but never anything like this. Makes you wonder how the inventor ever came up with the idea, Charlie
john.r.davies
The shape that the machine produces on its paper chart is a "cardiod" (heart-shaped) curve, that typically is produced if you plot a point on a circle that is rolling around another circle. AS shown, just look at Point A and the red curve - ignore the rest! Which reveals a most ingenious mind designing that machine! But also the enormous imbalance that it is designed to accomodate! Look at the size of the paper disc, and the slot that the axle can move in! John Edited August 24, 2022 by john.r.davies
barkerwilliams
Great machine, it would have been nice to have taken the wheel to a modern test rig for a second opinion on the result of the balance. Alan
