TR4 speedometer ????

Recommended Posts

The knurled knob to rewind the numbers has fallen off. Due to a failure of the rod inside the speedo. See pic.

I am reluctant to strip the speedo, but thought that maybe someone has already done such a job on their car.

Is it easy or impossible? I know a grand man with a lathe...........

Hi Pete,

if it were me, I would turn up a new knurled knob that would fit snugly over the existing spindle.

I would also have a hole though the knob for a new pin  to sit in the remains of the pin hole in the spindle. And then Araldite it together.

The forces are quite small,   should work forever - and no dismantling
