James Howe
Does anyone have pictures of how the parts of a four-speed gearbox are put on the main shaft sequentially? I've taken apart a 1970 US box and can't figure out how to put it back together again!
foster461
Try the Buckeye Triumphs technical section. Still a great reference source after all these years. https://www.buckeyetriumphs.org/gearbox Stan
John Morrison
Or look up the Moss parts page, great exploded diagrams for free. John.
barkerwilliams
I'm told the best technique is to use an old wire coat hanger opened up and as you remove a gear slide it onto the wire with the correct orientation. If you re-tie the hanger the set can be washed or put to one side awaiting replacement items and cannot get out of sequence. Each gear is correctly placed for reassembly or replacement as you come to rebuild. Stable doors and horses though in this case. Alan
