cookie
Didn't want to hijack another recent post on speedo cable as a slightly different question. Taken the speedo out, how easily should I be able to turn the speedo from the back with a small piece of old cable. Should it be very easy to spin. I have a small amount of resistance, bit hard to explain that in words, but basically i can spin it by hand to make the arm jump and the odo to move, but it is not very free. The reason i ask is because the angle drive is knackered and i am trying to work out if the speedo caused it. Thanks Dave
RogerH
It should be very free. Roger
ed_h
Yes--shouldn't be much much resistance at all. You can try a drop of light machine oil on the bronze bush to see if it helps. Ed
cookie
Thanks for your comments. Have removed the angle drive and inserted the speedo cable directly. All working fine, just need to do a speed check against a sat nav. Dave
