jfg
Is there a styling difference between early and late? What year was the change? What other differences might there be?
BlueTR3A-5EKT
From memory...which is now hazy. We started to get double bulged bonnets for TR7 (TR8 style as we knew them) in 1978 (Part Number XKC2242) Before that a flatter single bulged bonnet was supplied. 1976 -1977 (Part Number WKC170) So, I would guess the bonnet was rationalised to one part number to suit both 4 and 8 cyl engined cars (Part Number XKC2242) Double bulge providing more power plant clearance Happy to be contradicted as wedges are not my forte. Topoff
Hi in the UK The single bulg bonnet was superceeded for the 1980 model year (March). This means all production convertibles have double bulg bonnets. All TR8s, US production and UK Prototypes, would need double bulg bonnets for clearance over the carbs. On the 2 litre cars either bonnet could be fitted without any modification. Laurence.
